Sweet like a sugar cookie and creamy as custard, Buttermilk Pie is an old fashioned recipe that goes back hundreds of years.
- 4 eggs
- 1 ¼ cups sugar
- ½ cup buttermilk
- ¼ cup melted butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 unbaked pastry pie crust
Beat the eggs and sugar together until fluffy. Add the buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla. Pour into a prepared pie crust and bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 40 minutes or until the center is almost set but still soft.
Cool and chill. Serve topped with a dollop of whipped cream.
