What an interesting winter we have all had! Sheltering in place for several months has made us all eager to get out and about, but in as safe a way as possible. We are very fortunate to be in Bryson City, where we are in the top 10% of the safest places to be in North Carolina.
Whether or not you have stayed with us before, you may be wondering,
What will the Fryemont Inn Experience be Like in the Era of Covid-19?
We know that after self quarantining for months, you are probably wanting to return to a semblance of normalcy, but with an assurance of safety. Other than our dining room staff wearing masks, and a partition between guests and the staff at the front desk and the hostess desk in the dining room, our past guests won’t notice very much. But we can assure all of our guests that behind the scenes we are doing everything that is recommended by the North Carolina and Swain County Departments of Health. We are deep cleaning every room after every stay. When possible we are allowing 48 hours between rentals of any room. We are sanitizing and disinfecting as many surfaces as we can, paying special attention to the common areas and especially the high touch areas. Our staff is practicing social distancing whenever possible, and when it is not, we are wearing masks. We are screening staff daily by taking temperatures and adhering to the NCDH symptoms checklist. We are following Governor Cooper’s direction to operate out dining room at 50% capacity.
The CDC recommends that hotels leave doors and windows open to keep fresh air circulating. That will be quite a challenge to some of our bigger brothers and sisters in the hotel industry, but not a challenge for the Fryemont. Our doors and windows have always been open to let in the fresh mountain air. We’ve been ahead of that curve since 1923!
Our previous guests know that at the Fryemont everyone is family. And just as you would care for your family in this uncertain environment, we will do everything in our power to keep you safe, while making sure that you are able to enjoy the peace and sanctuary of your “home away from home” in the beautiful and serene mountains of Western North Carolina.
You can breathe easy here.
